Everything you needto reach the driver.
ChatPlate is a mobile app for one job: a short, private conversation with the person behind a vehicle. Here is each feature, what it’s for and an example.

08:14
Could you move your car a little?
08:15
Yes, I’ll be there in two minutes.
08:16
01
License plate search
Go from “whose car is this?” to a conversation in seconds.
Type a plate in the search field on the home screen. If someone registered that plate in ChatPlate, you can open a chat about that vehicle. If not, the app can’t deliver a message.
Example
A van is parked in your reserved space. You search its plate and send a message instead of waiting next to it.
Hi, your car is blocking the garage exit. Could you move it?
08:14
Sorry! Coming down now.
08:15
02
Private chat
Talk it through without exchanging numbers.
Each conversation is linked to a plate and shows the other person’s profile name. Messages are timestamped, so both sides know when something was said.
Example
“I’ll be back in 10 minutes, is that okay?” — and the conversation stays in one place.

03
Voice messages
Speak when typing is awkward.
Hold and record a short message when you’re carrying shopping, wearing gloves or just want to sound friendly rather than abrupt.
Example
A short voice note: “Hi, your hazard lights are flashing — just letting you know.”
Got it, on my way!

04
Photos
Show the problem instead of describing it.
Send a picture so the other person immediately understands: which exit is blocked, which window is open, where the scratch is.
Example
A photo of the half-open rear window before it starts raining.

Audio calls
Talk it through when a message is too slow.
Start an audio call from a conversation when it’s quicker to speak, for example to explain where you’re parked. You don’t see each other’s phone numbers.
Example
“I’m at the gate on the left, can you hear me? I’ll pull forward now.”
The other person decides whether to accept the call. Your phone asks for microphone permission the first time.

Video calls
Show the situation live.
Switch to a video call when seeing the place helps, for example to show which exit or space you mean.
Example
You point your camera at the blocked gate so the driver knows exactly which car to move.
Video calls need camera and microphone permission and a stable connection.

Quick messages
The right words, ready in one tap.
Templates for common situations help you send a clear and polite message fast, and keep the tone calm.
Example
“Your lights are on.” — sent in one tap while you walk past.

08:14
Your headlights are on.
08:15
Thanks for letting me know!

Notifications
Know when someone needs you to move.
When a message arrives for one of your plates, you get a notification on your phone, so you can react while it still matters. Make sure notifications for ChatPlate are allowed in your phone settings.
Example
You’re in a meeting and see: “New message about your plate.”
I’m leaving now, can you wait a minute?
08:14
Sure, I’ll wait.

Your license plate
Messages arrive for the plate you register.
During sign-up you register your license plate so others can reach you about that vehicle. Keep it correct: a typo means messages go nowhere.
Example
You register your plate once, and from then on, people who need you to move can reach you.
Whether several plates can be managed per account is not documented on this website yet. Check the app or ask support.

Block & report
You decide who can keep talking to you.
Block a user and they can no longer message you. Report abusive, threatening or spam messages so the ChatPlate team can review them under the Terms and Fair Use rules.
Example
Someone sends insults instead of a request. You report the message and block the sender.
